Pest of the Month: Termites
Termites are extremely destructive and expensive, causing billions of dollars in damage to homes each year. They are literal homewreckers! While they primarily feed on wood, these hungry little pests have also been known to damage paper, books, insulation, and even swimming pool liners and filtration systems. Termites can devour living trees and shrubs, but usually attack already dying plants. Is it an ant infestation or a termite problem? While they can look similar, termites are attracted to the light around doors and windows, but can also be spotted emerging from the base of a foundation wall or adjoining porches and patios. Other signs of infestation are mud tubes extending over foundation walls, support piers, sill plates, or floor joists. The tubes are typically about the diameter of a pencil, but sometimes can be thicker. With over 40 years of pest control expertise, let us take care of these homewreckers.
